Casting is complete for the Bridge Theatre’s upcoming, immersive production of the classic American musical Guys and Dolls, which will begin previews at the London venue March 3, 2023. Opening night is March 14.

Tony winner Nicholas Hytner will direct a cast featuring Daniel Mays as Nathan Detroit, Andrew Richardson as Sky Masterson, Celinde Schoenmaker as Sarah Brown, Marisha Wallace as Miss Adelaide, Cedric Neal as Nicely-Nicely Johnson, Cornelius Clarke as Lieutenant Brannigan, Cameron Johnson as Big Jule, Anthony O’Donnell as Arvide Abernathy, Mark Oxtoby as Benny Southstreet, Adam Pearce as Harry the Horse, Ryan Pidgen as Rusty Charlie, and Katy Secombe as General Cartwright.

The ensemble includes Simon Anthony, Lydia Bannister, Kathryn Barnes, Callum Bell, Cindy Belliot, Petrelle Dias, Ike Fallon, Leslie Garcia Bowman, George Ioannides, Robbie McMillan, Perry O’Dea, Charlotte Scott, Tinovimbanashe Sibanda, Isabel Snaas, Sasha Wareham, and Dale White.

The first musical to be presented at The Bridge will also have a set by Bunny Christie, choreography by Arlene Phillips, costumes by Deborah Andrews and Christie, associate direction and choreography by James Cousins, lighting by Paule Constable, sound by Paul Arditti, musical direction by Tom Brady, orchestrations by Charlie Rosen and casting by Charlotte Sutton.

Based on the story and characters of Damon Runyon, Guys and Dolls has music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows.

The original Broadway production opened at the 46th Street Theatre in November 1950, running 1,200 performances before closing November 28, 1953. Among the premiere cast were Robert Alda as Sky Masterson, Isabel Bigley as Sarah Brown, Sam Levene as Nathan Detroit, and Vivian Blaine as Miss Adelaide. Blaine re-created her role for the 1955 film, which also starred Marlon Brando as Sky Masterson, Jean Simmons as Sarah Brown, and Frank Sinatra as Nathan Detroit.

The Bridge staging will feature seating wrapped around the action while the immersive tickets transport audiences to the streets of Manhattan and the bars of Havana.

Tickets are initially on sale through September 2, 2023. For additional information click here.
